Details
In the movie Saving Mr. Wu, Mr. Wu, played by Andy Lau, is kidnapped in Beijing by Zhang Hua and his three accomplices who pose as police officers. They demand a ransom of 3 million RMB for his release. The Chinese detectives, led by Chief Xing, played by Liu Ye, are quick to respond to the abduction and form a task force to search the city.
The clock is ticking as Mr. Wu's captors threaten to kill him at 9 PM regardless of whether the ransom is paid or not. The detectives race against time to find him and bring him back safely. Eventually, they manage to apprehend Zhang Hua, leaving him as the only captor left.
As the deadline for Mr. Wu's execution approaches, the detectives and captors come face to face, resulting in a tense showdown. The movie explores the intricate cat-and-mouse game between the police and the kidnappers, as well as the emotional and psychological toll it takes on Mr. Wu and his loved ones.
