In the movie Rage (2014), Paul Maguire is a reformed criminal who has turned his life around and is now a successful businessman in the construction industry. He is happily married to his wife Vanessa and they have a loving relationship with their sixteen-year-old daughter, Caitlin.
One night, Paul and Vanessa attend a dinner party, leaving Caitlin at home with her friends Mike and Evan. However, their evening takes a horrific turn when Detective Peter St. John interrupts their dinner to inform them that Caitlin has been kidnapped and her friends have been injured.
Paul discovers that three criminals had broken into their home and taken his daughter. Desperate to find Caitlin, Paul reaches out to his old friends and former crew members, Kane and Danny Doherty, for help. They try to intimidate the small-time criminals into revealing Caitlin's whereabouts but are unsuccessful.
Tragically, Caitlin is eventually found dead in a park. The ballistics report reveals that she was killed with a Russian Tokarev pistol, leading Paul to believe that the Russian mafia is seeking revenge on him.
