Details
In Hjältehunden från New York (2004), two young girls, from an orphanage, are excitedly adopted by a family in New York. However, they soon discover that their new apartment doesn't allow dogs, which is a problem since they have recently found and become attached to a cute puppy.
Determined to keep their new fur friend, the girls decide to secretly bring the puppy, Chestnut, into the apartment and hide him from their parents. As Chestnut starts to grow bigger, he becomes harder to conceal, and the girls find themselves in more and more trouble.
Chestnut, a lovable Great Dane, quickly becomes a mischievous troublemaker. From taking over the living room and wrecking furniture to causing chaos in the kitchen, he brings chaos into the family's once orderly life.
As the girls desperately try to navigate their new life and keep Chestnut hidden, they learn valuable lessons about responsibility, honesty, and the importance of family and loyalty. They discover that having a dog brings joy but also entails significant challenges.
