Details
Death Hunt (1981) is set in Canada in 1931 and follows the story of a loner trapper named Johnson, who lives in the icy mountains near the Yukon river. During a visit to town, he witnesses a brutal dog-fight and decides to intervene. Against the owner's will, Johnson purchases one of the nearly dead dogs for $200. When the dog's owner, Hasel, complains to Mountie Sergeant Millen, he refuses to take action.
However, things take a turn when the vengeful dog breeder and his friends accuse Johnson of murder. Despite sympathizing with Johnson, Millen is obligated to try and arrest him. Faced with the threat of losing his freedom, Johnson fights back to defend himself.
